TEXT: MATT. 24 :2
BY: BRO. AMOS OVURU
This message is being directed to who are now Sunday, Sunday worshipers.
MEANING OF HINDRANCE
Something that holds back or causes problem with something else, (you are not coming). Some of us are now very, very far from God. And have attracted to many, many more problems to our selves. 1 step away from God is 100 step closer to devil.
(Matt.6:30) seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness..
(Matt. 6:20-21) we were advice to seek heavenly things, don’t be over attached to Earthly things.
Why, will we not bring problems to ourselves (Jer. 5:25)
In the social media- story of two fighters on Thursday- used stone on his head and that nwas how he died.
(Jer. 5:25) Your sin has turned away good things and also withhold your blessing from reaching you.
(James 4:2-3) In the state of then confusion- even when we asked from God we asked
with wrong motives. So we don’t even receive from God anymore.
Because we are left alone, he allow us to go through trials and temptation. (Ps. 107:12-13)
Reason however- Because God is love he never want us to perish in this our current situation.
- He want to see, What is in our heart, if we are still afaithful- (Adam were are you)
- So that he can draw us closer to him again.
- To teach us obedience (Heb 5:5)
- Christ, bought us with a price, and we should know that our soul, spirit are his (1Cor.5:20; 7:23)
We were redeemed with the precious blood of Christ, instead of making us his slaves, he chose to adopt us as his children and joint heir with his son (Gal. 4:5)
(1pet. 2:25) His love had received us when we were lost and gone astray.
Brethren today is another opportunity he as given us to come back to him.
The message is reminding us to remember or our ‘’First love’’ (Rev. 2:4-5) say he we have something against us and spilt us out- if you don’t change in attitude.
He said in (John 10:27) my sheep hear my voice- a word is enough for the wise.
HINDRANCES TO OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
- Being ‘’too busy’’ to take time with him, (Matt. 23:37b)
- Habouring unrepentant sin in our hearts (ps. 66;18)
- Bearing too full of our own thaughts (Isa.55:2)
- Becoming caught up with the world and it cares (Matt. 18:22)
- Doubting the Lords love for you (Mal. 1:2)
